For years, Amy and Brian Nowak dreamed of starting a business together. After Brian retired from active duty in 2020, they turned that dream into reality.

As a Navy spouse, Amy planned and executed thirteen relocations, including setting up each new household. To her these moves presented opportunities to style and remodel our homes. Over time, and through countless remodel projects, her eye for aesthetic and functional harmony developed, gradually becoming more modern, cohesive and serene. She's also been the owner and operator of a photography business for the past eight years and brings communication, relationship management and planning skills to ensure we do the right project for our clients. 

Brian spent 25 years in the Navy as a submariner and engineer, and then three years as a technologist and vice president at Sonalysts, a small defense-oriented engineering and professional services firm.

When he wasn’t on a deployment or in the shipyard., Brian planned and executed every one of Amy’s home renovation projects, continuously learning new skills and gracefully recovering from many mistakes along the way. He’s personally done every job that can be done in a house except refinishing wood floors. He channels his organization, business development, and technical acumen to make sure we do the projects right for our clients.

After a lot of contemplation, conversations with mentors and research, Amy and Brian decided to launch AB Home Concepts to share their fervor and knack for well-planned, meaningful home renovations. Owning and operating a small business also provides an avenue to participate in their community, which had always been very difficult due to moving every two years with the Navy.
